The major emphasis of GUK always goes for poverty alleviation, education promotion, employment, generation, improvement of water and sanitation condition, nutrition promotion, protection of women & children ageist violence and so on through development project activities, micro-credit support and social mobilization.

GUK believes that family is the focal point of social development and accordingly gives emphasis on capacity building of the poor and hard core poor through utilization of untapped local resources, advocacy etc ,for their economic emancipation through poverty alleviation. GUK as a lead and pragmatic organization is always ready to accept the challenges of millennium development goals and objectives.

I am really grateful to the well wishers of GUK for realizing the success and short comings in the past. The present emphasis of GUK has been streamed lined to accomplish good governance, discipline and uninterrupted service delivery to the targeted beneficiaries. GUK remains committed to evolve and implement felt needs and innovative activities to address the poor communities in partnership with community stakeholder, GO-NGOs, donors and benevolent. The experience gained and lessons learned in the past would serve as guiding principles for future programme management and development.

I recall with admiration the role of PKSF, DFID-CLP, European Commission, HKI, MCC-Bangladesh, BRAC, GOB, partner organizations, Government officials at different levels and all other well wishers for their continued cooperation, proper guidance, supports and technical assistance.

I acknowledge with gratitude the generous contribution, sincere support and tired less efforts of the members of the Executive Committee and staff members of GUK in the execution process of development project activities.

We look forward to working together with donors & pertners to realize our objectives in the years ahead.
